Heritage Revival: Merging Classic and Modern Bike Designs

Motorcycles have always been about style and performance. In 2025, more riders are looking for both.

Manufacturers are responding. They’re blending old-school designs with modern engineering. You’ve probably seen it—round headlights, flat seats, twin shocks, all sitting on a fuel-injected frame with ABS and traction control.

Why the shift?

Riders want bikes with character. But they don’t want to deal with the issues that come with older machines. Vintage bikes look great, but they take work. Hard starting, weak brakes, poor lighting, and carb problems were common.

Now you can get that classic look without the hassle.

Bikes like the Yamaha XSR700, Kawasaki Z650RS, and Royal Enfield’s lineup are leading the charge. Even Harley and Triumph have leaned into heritage styling with updated tech under the tank.

This shift has changed the service side too.

Older-style bikes with modern parts need a mix of old and new knowledge. At Imperial, we see riders upgrading their classics with LED lighting, disc brakes, and electronic ignitions. Others are buying new retro-styled bikes that need regular service just like any other modern machine.

If you ride something built to look vintage, ask yourself:

Are you keeping up with service intervals?
Do you know which parts are modern and which need more frequent attention?

A heritage-inspired bike still needs proper care.

If you’re restoring an old model or maintaining a modern throwback, talk to a shop that knows both worlds. You don’t want someone guessing their way through your wiring harness or using outdated advice on a fuel-injected system.

Classic looks are back. But so is the need for real, careful maintenance.

Got a heritage bike? Bring it in. We’ll keep it running right.
